This small church perched on the slopes of Monte Solaro was a resting area along the path known as "Passetiello", which starts from Via Torina (Due Golfi).
As an alternative route to the "Fenicia" steps, it was once used mainly by the Carthusian monks to reach their properties in Anacapri from the centre of Capri.
The structure of the oldest part of the curch consists of two naves covered by barrel vaults and a small bell-tower.
Between 1614 and 1619 it was partly restructured with the addition of the sacristy and various service rooms.

How to reach
Walk along the path which starts half way along Viale Axel Munthe (about 1 hour). Or, from the summit of Mount Solaro (m. 589), with suitable shoes, walking along a path surrounded by lush vegetation consisting mainly of an underwood full of broom, we soon reach La Crocetta (m. 576), where there is a shrine with a Madonna.
From here we proceded to the right along a flattish path bordered by a vegetation with ferns (30 mins.).
On the way back we can reach Anacapri on foot, following the above mentioned path as far as Viale Axel Munthe.
