It was around this small chuch with a 13th century chamber layout that the irst district of Anacapri developed.
Like the church, it was known as "Li Curti" because of its characteristic houses with a courtyard, of which "Casa Zoronara" is a typical surviving example.
As time went by, the district grew, giving rise to the adjacent "Portico" district and further to the west those of "Cagliari" and "Starza": they are all situated on the road axis leading from Capodimonte to Migliera.
