Lovely villa hidden away in Anacapri

Lovely comfortable clean room with everything we needed plus a wonderful sea view. We received a great welcome and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and plenty to choose from, eating outside was perfect. There is disappointingly no pool. There looked to be a jacuzzi but we didn’t see anyone use it. Our beds were super comfortable, clean towels daily and clean sheets after 2 nights. A generous basket of toiletries. We thought it was very good value for Capri prices.

Think twice, and stay elsewhere - there is no pool as advertised

On a recent trip to Italy, we wanted to have a few days of true rest and relaxation, so we splurged on a property in Capri that had a pool. Idea was to spend the early day chilling by the pool and the ladder part of the day exploring the island. After noticing there was no pool anywhere I asked about it and the immediate response was "it's clearly stated on Expedia and booking that the pool is at our sister property, we can arrange a drive, and it's 15 euro per person. Right away we felt like we were swindled and spent the rest of that day seeing if we could get out of our agreement and go elsewhere. I feel bad because everyone was quite nice, but there was no fixing the bad taste in our mouths from being lied to. The beds were quite awful - it felt like we were sleeping on box springs, not mattresses, and the pillows were rock hard and flat. Again, for the money we were paying we expected a bit more comfort. On a brighter note, the breakfast was good - yes limited but this is europe. There were meats and cheeses, spreads, eggs, and plenty of fresh fruits. And the coffees were amazing. And the patio allowed us to enjoy being outside. The rooms were also cleaned daily with fresh towels and a basket of lovely shampoos/soaps, etc. Unfortunately for us, the idea of paying a lot and not getting any of what was advertised was too much to give this property a positive review, and we will be taking this up with Expedia as they have a false advertisement on there.

Booked a day trip from Sorrento to Capri and decided to stay overnight, found this amazing hotel it was absolutely gorgeous our only regret is we couldn’t stay longer. The location was perfect 10 minutes stroll into the small town, the views from our room were spectacular , service and friendliness by all staff outstanding. The best amenities in a hotel I’ve ever stayed in and plentiful. The breakfast and coffee brilliant Thank you one day I will definitely come back and stay longer.

Probably one of the best Capri accomodation offers

When I say, it might be one of the best accomodation the island offers, it do not mean I'm a Capri expert who's spent a lot of time there and has a profound knowledge on the hotels' offer. It's rather my 2days stay insight from two walkabouts through Capri (city) and Anacapri (the twin city nearby). Since the majority of hotels, b&Bs and such like are located somewhwere at or near the main streets (may even a main street be a 2 meters wide cobblestone pathway), this hotel is off the main circulation lines, a fact that makes it a little more difficult to find and reach but also provides for the major advantage of the spot: it is a big villa sourrounded by a garden, a lot of green platns, and tuckey away from the island traffic and the passers-by glances. There, you can feel the serenity of Capri, its evening (or morning) tranquility, something fairly unlikely to find if your hotel is crammed in between many other accomodation establishments, restaurants, shops or similar. The rooms (at the least the double room we had) are spacious, elegant and well equipped (so is the bathroom). The standard fully complies with what you might expect in a *** star hotel. The breakfast (serviced in the garden) is adequate. What I might've objected, though, was just the quality of the coffee (rather a cheap street beverage dispenser type of drink than an Italian beverage landmark). The staff speaks well English and is helpful if you have any questions or issues with what and when to see on Capri (a topic in itself...!). What is somewhat painful is inevitably the price, but it's Capri - you cannot expect a decent accomodation at a bargain price, particularly when the high season starts and the island gradually becomes flooded with tourists...

Map

Central but not too central: Casa Ceselle is close to all the major attractions and, at the same time, far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet for which the little town of Anacapri is known and loved.

The guest house is just 5 minutes away from the historic center of Anacapri and the main bus terminal, from where to catch buses to Capri, the Faro and the Grotta Azzurra.
