At the foot of Capri's Faraglioni rocks, where the sea is warm and crystal clear and the silence is broken only by the sound of the waves, you'll find Fontelina: the restaurant belonging to the historic beach club with which it shares its name.
A family passion
Run for more than half a century by the Arcucci and Gargiulo families, Fontelina is famous for its exquisite maritime cuisine, prepared with the freshest of fish and seafood.
If you don't fancy fish, the menu features a number of vegetarian dishes too, including the island's delicious ravioli capresi
The restaurant's sangria, provides the perfect accompaniment to dishes which are both pleasingly simple and surprisingly light.
Brides on the beach
The fabulous food, wonderful wine and breathtakingly beautiful location - within swimming distance of the Faraglioni - make Fontelina the kind of place dream weddings come true!
Fontelina is one of the island's favorite beach clubs, easily reached on foot, from the Tragara viewing terrace, or by taxi-boat from Marina Piccola.
Insider tips
We suggest you book your table as soon as you arrive on the island, especially if you plan to visit Capri in the peak summer months.
Fontelina's rocky beach is made up of shallow reefs, making it unsuitable for small children.

Map
The Fontelina restaurant is located on the tiny beach at the foot of the Faraglioni, in one of the most beautiful corners of the Island of Capri.
You can reach Fontelina by boat or on foot, using the steep, downhill path which starts just beneath the Punta Tragara viewing point. If you don't fancy making the uphill return journey, you can always take the restaurant's shuttle boat service to Marina Piccola instead.
FAQ - Frequently asked questions
How do you reach La Fontelina from Capri town center?
From the Piazzetta, the walking route takes about 30 minutes along Via Camerelle, Via Tragara, and the Via Faraglioni path. The final section includes a fairly steep descent, so comfortable, stable shoes are essential.
As an alternative, you can use a taxi-boat service from Marina Piccola: about €40 for 1–4 people on the way in, and €10 per person for the return.
How can I reserve a spot at La Fontelina?
Booking is mandatory through the official website. Reservations typically open on April 1, and it is advisable to book as early as possible, especially for high-season dates. Accessing both the beach club and the restaurant requires a minimum spend of €200 per person during peak periods.
There is no minimum spend requirement for guests who wish to book the restaurant only.
Is it worth going to Fontelina if I only have one day in Capri?
Visiting La Fontelina in a single day is possible, but time-consuming: between reaching the lido from Marina Grande, walking down or taking a taxi-boat, and coming back, you should allow about one hour to get there and another hour to return. Fontelina is best enjoyed slowly, without a packed schedule.
It’s worth it if your main goal is to relax by the sea and keep your visit to Capri town to a short stroll. If you want to fit in several attractions, the timing may feel tight.
How much does a day at Fontelina cost?
From June to September, Fontelina requires a minimum spend of €200 per person, covering both beach services (mattress, chair, umbrella, towels, drinks…) and lunch at the restaurant. This minimum applies only to guests booking the full beach + restaurant experience.
For restaurant-only bookings, there is no minimum spend.
The boat shuttle service, both inbound and outbound, is not included in the minimum spend and must always be paid separately.
