La Terrazza di Lucullo

They have completely changed their menu and it is not for the better. They’ve gotten rid of all their great dishes, and they’ve tried to create something that they are not not giving the value that they had before. Part of the reason why we saved here was because of the restaurant we will not be coming back.

The location is definitely impressive: the view of the Gulf of Naples is unparalleled (arriving at sunset allows you to fully enjoy this natural spectacle) and the structure perched on the sea is well-maintained and unique in its kind. I thought such magnificence would be reflected in a restaurant of the same level; unfortunately, my expectations were promptly disappointed. Mediocre cuisine: the dishes are not refined and the portions are small. Overall, it was not a memorable experience (which, in my opinion, is not compatible with the prices listed on the menu). The real downside, however, was the service: the waitstaff was friendly but inexperienced. Gross and embarrassing mistakes: inappropriate cutlery (meat utensils for fish), non-functioning table light (replaced only after explicit request), a waitress who insisted on taking the order but did not speak a word of Italian, and descriptions of the dishes that sounded like poems learned by heart (and poorly, since we often had to help remember the ingredients that made up the dish). Definitely not the standard one expects from a place like this. In conclusion: the location (thanks to Mother Nature) is noteworthy, but for everything else, I would only recommend it to some American tourists visiting Italy for the first time who are not too particular.

Overpriced, loud tourist trap with crap food. Embarrassing. Anacapri is gorgeous, but this “restaurant” almost ruined the entire experience.

Lovely experience— food and waitstaff. Marco is so nice. They gave us honeymoon treats for dessert as well. Will be back.
