Terrazza Maresca

Awesome experience in Capri. After a taxi dropped us short and gave us wrong directions, we looked around for a very nice place for afternoon drinks and snacks. We called to make sure they were open and spoke with a gentleman who described their facilities. We found our way there, just at the end of the ferry pier. He remembered us and took us to the rooftop terrace. Wonderful view of the Harbour, shaded with a great breeze and no noise from the street. We had snacks and Champagne. The scamorzine farcite affumicate was wonderful and offered with an awesome truffle oil. The service was impeccable. We had a wonderful afternoon. Highly recommended.

Arrived for lunch on a Wednesday after having made a reservation only to be told that the chef was out and that they had the ability to make very few dishes. We agreed to stay because we were hot and very tired, but were overall disappointed that we weren't given this information when we made the reservation. When we received the bill we were also unpleasantly surprised as the very simple, non-chef-made dishes and two sodas came to over 75 euros.

On July 4th, my friend and I arrived in Capri harbour on a small boat from Sorrento on a very rough day at sea. Rather seasick, I did not want to travel immediately up the funicular. Luckily my friend and I spotted a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and made our way over to Terazza Maresca. The manager (I think?), greeted us in the lobby and when I mentioned I wasn’t well, happily gave me a local cure for seasickness (fresh lemon rinds). He accompanied us up the elevator and asked the equally lovely waiter, Anu, to take care of us. Anu made sure we had a table in the shade, happily provided the fresh lemons and snacks and an amazing cake and gelato for my friend. The service here is fantastic despite us not ordering a huge meal. Anu and the manager were wonderful and I thank them both. Go for the views and go for the food but especially for the great service.
