Lo Sfizio is the perfect choice if you want to experience the authentic taste of Capri's traditional cuisine. Situated half way between the Piazzetta and Villa Jovis, Lo Sfizio serves meals in the main dining room or outside, at tables positioned to the side of a quiet pedestrian pathway and in the garden next to the restaurant.

A great lunchtime venue, where to stop off for a bite to eat before or after a visit to the impressive ruins of Emperor Tiberius' most famous island residence, Lo Sfizio is likewise, the perfect location for a romantic candlelit dinner for two or a pizza among friends. Lo Sfizio's menu features all of the island's best-loved dishes: ravioli capresi, sea food paccheri and fresh pasta served with a variety of delicious sauces. The restaurant's generously sized second courses (meat, fish and vegetarian) will satisfy even the keenest of appetites.

Lo Sfizio is the first eatery on the island of Capri to serve whole, spit-roasted chicken. Both chicken and pizza, the latter cooked in a traditional wood burning oven, are served to eat in or to take away.

OK but expensive

A pleasant 10 to 12 minute walk from our hotel ( Regina Christina). We sat outside for dinner; the place does a brisk trade in take away pizzas which made the inside rather crowded and noisy. My wife chose the specialty of the day, amberjack (a fish) with a few shellfish. She rated it as satisfactory but not outstanding. I had grilled octopus which again was OK but not great. (I think we are spoiled with excellent seafood in Australia). The staff were friendly and helpful (neither of us have much Italian). The price, like most of Europe, was extortionate. Menu and drinks prices seem to be slightly above Australian prices in the number but the currency is Euros. For example a typical price for a coffee is €7 which is roughly $AU14!

Excellent Italian food

Best food we had on our holiday in South Italy . We were staying in Capri for three days. We stopped in here for lunch after our visit to Villa Jorvis. Italian food at its best. Excellent menu with lots of fish dishes. We stayed for two hours and had a starter and main course and a bottle of wine. Not cheap but the food was excellent. The starters were large. I had the anchovies and my husband had the mussels. Mains we had octopus and the special fish dish. If you are in Capri for the day it is worth the walk up to this restaurant.
