FAQ - Frequently asked questions
Do I need a boating license to rent these boats?
No, a license is not required. These boats are designed even for beginners with no prior experience: before departure, the staff will give you clear instructions on how to handle them safely. However, having some basic familiarity with the sea is recommended to feel more comfortable while navigating.
Is it hard to drive the boat?
No, the boats are very easy to operate and suitable even for first-timers. The staff will show you how to start the engine, steer, dock, and stop safely. Sea conditions are constantly monitored, and if the water is rough, the staff will recommend rescheduling your experience to ensure comfort and safety.
How many people can fit on board?
The maximum capacity is 5 people per boat. Children are counted the same as adults for safety and capacity purposes, so the limit cannot be exceeded.
Can we stop for a swim?
Yes, you’re free to stop wherever you like to swim, sunbathe, or snorkel, as long as you follow navigation rules: at least 100 meters from rocky cliffs and 200 meters from beaches. The staff will guide you to the safest and most scenic spots.
Can I visit the Blue Grotto?
If you’d like to visit the Blue Grotto, we recommend renting the boat for at least 3 hours, either early in the morning or in the early afternoon. Head directly to the grotto as your first stop: you can moor at one of the buoys at the entrance and wait for your turn to board the small authorized rowboats that take visitors inside. Keep in mind that during high season, wait times can exceed one hour; this is why you’ll need at least 3 hours to see the grotto and also complete the island tour.
What happens if the sea is rough or it rains?
In case of bad weather, the rental can be rescheduled or canceled at no extra cost. Safety always comes first.
